Just back from being fired. It's about 13.5 inches square. I did an angular Greek wave design frame to set off the simple figure.
In butterscotch and white, high gloss.

In the thumbnail, it looked like paper cut and stacked to form a 3D shape! It's very pretty. I love how the glazes are not ultra-glossy (at least, they don't look it in the picture).

You are partially correct in your assessment on technique. It is a high gloss glaze, however.

wow... its beautiful! you have great skill :) could you explain how you went about the whole process for us newbies to sculpture? we've got sculpture in college, but its nowhere near as advanced as this :o here everyone just sticks to good old clay, wood and fibre...

The thumbnail on the Daily Deviation page was a little deceiving, I initially thought this was a lino print.

Nice tile all around. The tri-color glazing scheme is really effective, I love the bright white in contrast to the butterscotch of the body and shadows. The deeper shadow color was a great touch.

Thanks,
It's fun working with the glazes, since you never really know exactly what it will look like after the kiln.

Thanks,
It's difficult sometimes to decide what layer should, or should not, be included or emphasised.

Yeah, I could see that being a challenge. Do you sketch your ideas out first to figure out the layers, or do you just wing it?

Thanks,
I tinkered a bit with the traditional Greek wave, made it more angular, and hopefully fresher,
more contemporary.
